BUILDING KICKS OFF FOR NEW SENIOR SCHOOL IN POINT COOK
Students in Point Cook will soon have the modern classrooms and school facilities they need to get the great education they deserve, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.
Member for Altona Jill Hennessy today officially turned the sod of the brand new Point Cook South Senior Secondary School. Kane Constructions has been awarded the construction contract with work currently underway. The school is scheduled to open Term 1, 2020 and enrolment details will be made available next year.
The $53 million project will create a new senior secondary school for up to 1,100 students. The year 10-12 school will be a three-storey vertical school that will include science, technology, workshops, media and ICT spaces, a library and will also feature a performing arts and physical education building, sports field and multi-use courts.
The Labor Government is building the Education State so every Victorian student can get a great education and every community has access to a great local school.
This school building boom has delivered more than 1,300 school upgrades and 70 new school projects across the state, supporting more than 5,000 construction jobs for Victorians.
