Upgraded Classrooms and Facilities For Saltwater P-9 College
Saltwater students now have bigger, better classrooms and school facilities to learn in, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.
Member for Altona District Hon Jill Hennessy today announced the exciting news that the $13.06 million upgrade at Saltwater P-9 College has reached practical completion. The project includes a learning community, specialist buildings, a sports oval and multi-courts needed for secondary education.
After opening its doors for Prep–Year 6 students in 2019, these new facilities will mean Saltwater College will be ready for Year 7 students in 2022, Years 7 and 8 in 2023 and Years 7, 8 and 9 in 2024.
In the past seven years, the Victorian Government has invested more than $10.9 billion in building new schools and more than 1,700 school upgrades, creating around 13,500 jobs in construction and associated industries. It is now ahead of schedule in its commitment to open 100 new schools by 2026, with 62 new schools opening between 2019 and 2024.
The Labor Government is building the Education State so that every student can access a great local school and a quality education.
